HOST FAMILIES (FA)

A recurring need

We can't know in advance when and how many cats we're going to capture, that's why we need FA available all the time!

Commitment

Telling the association that you are ok to become an FA must be a thoughtful act. It would be very annoying if the association captures kittens and then realizes that the FA is no longer available, or that after a few days with the kitten, they no longer want to continue to welcome him.

A responsability

The FA undertakes to take care of the cat, to take the time to socialize it, to feed it properly, to administer medication if necessary and to be patient because they are often traumatized cats... It undertakes to warn the association in case of concern and if necessary, can travel with his own vehicle to the veterinarian.

A nice gesture ❤️

It is a very nice gesture that you will make for all those cats who have not asked for anything and who are going through complicated situations, to allow them to have a little love and to find a warm home!

Know your potential future life companion

It can also be a great experience if you want to know the character of a cat before adopting it because you keep it for a while and in the end, you really know who you are dealing with! I dreamed of a cuddly cat, I was FA and out of the two cats, I found the cat with the ideal character for me!

Adoption

For an adoption from a shelter or association, the cost is approximately €100 to €200 and includes all or part of the payment of veterinary costs (compulsory): identification, sterilization, vaccines, etc.

Why does association adoption pay?

The associations live off donations and adoptions and very often do not benefit from any subsidies (given to the largest structures: see the "help" tab). The donations are not enough to cover the costs incurred and are too random so very often the small structures pay the costs directly from their loved one.

Adoption fees vary depending on:

  • Expenses already incurred (vaccines, deworming, identification, etc.)

  • If the cat is sterilized or not.

This financial contribution has two objectives:

  1. Cover part of the expenses incurred in order to be able to continue the rescues.

  2. Make the adopter aware that the animal has a cost. He must be able to meet the expenses of the animal throughout his life (food, health costs, etc.)
